I’ve collaborated with my long-time colleagues at Ugly Studios for many years, providing freelance artwork and graphic production support across a wide range of medium and large-scale exhibition projects.
Working from supplied concepts and technical measurements, I create accurate print-ready artwork and exhibition graphics while making considered design decisions to ensure each project remains visually engaging, practical and consistent with the original creative direction.
The many projects have included visitor centres, heritage exhibitions and immersive public spaces for organisations including Severn Trent, National Trust and Northampton Museum and Art Gallery.

Northampton Museum – 100 Objects Exhibition
A large-scale temporary exhibition featuring 100 diverse objects, designed as a non-hierarchical display where every object was given equal importance and visual weight.
The approach used colour and structure to create individual visual moments rather than a single linear narrative, allowing visitors to explore freely without a prescribed route. The exhibition achieved record attendance and strong critical praise for its clarity and graphic system.

Severn Trent – Carsington Water Visitor Centre
An immersive visitor centre exhibition designed as a journey through water, using interactive storytelling, AV elements and hands-on experiences to communicate the importance and history of water in an engaging and accessible way.
The design prioritised clarity and engagement, reducing text while using strong visual narrative structures to guide visitors through the space. The completed exhibition received strong public response and was particularly popular with families and school groups.

Orford Ness – Island of Secrets Exhibition
A permanent exhibition exploring the hidden military history of Orford Ness, designed to balance archival storytelling with atmospheric interpretation in a remote and challenging environment.
The design combined historical narrative, personal testimony and structured timelines, using practical materials and restrained graphics to reflect the site’s raw industrial character. The finished exhibition was praised for its sensitive and atmospheric treatment of a complex subject.

Langham Dome – Visitor Centre
A visitor centre exhibition celebrating the history and innovation of RAF Langham, using film, interactives and atmospheric design to reflect the building’s original function as a training facility.
The design combined visual storytelling with interactive learning tools, creating an engaging visitor experience that supported a wide audience range. The completed project exceeded early visitor expectations and received multiple industry awards and recognition for interpretation and conservation design.
